How to message on dating apps (Tinder, Bumble, Hinge messaging guide)

Tinder is a geosocial networking and online dating application that allows users to anonymously swipe to like or dislike other profiles based on their photos, a small bio, and common interests. Once two users have “matched,” they can exchange messages.

Tinder launched in 2012 within startup incubator Hatch Labs as a joint venture between and mobile app development firm Xtreme Labs. By 2014, Tinder was registering about one billion “swipes” per day.

Tinder originally required access to a Facebook account to use the app, but it began allowing users to register with just a telephone number in August 2019.

Bumble is a location-based social application that facilitates communication between interested users. In heterosexual matches, only female users can make the first contact with matched male users, while in same-sex matches either person can send a message first.

Users can sign up using their phone number or Facebook profile, and have options of searching for romantic matches or, in “BFF mode”, friends. Bumble Bizz facilitates business communications. Bumble was founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd shortly after she left Tinder, a dating app she co-founded, due to growing tensions with other company executives. Wolfe Herd has described Bumble as a “feminist dating app”.As of September 2019, with a monthly user base of 5 million, Bumble is the second-most popular dating app in the U.S. after Tinder. According to a June 2016 survey, 46.2% of its users are female. According to Forbes, the company is valued at more than $1 billion, and has over 55 million users.

Hinge is a dating app founded by Justin McLeod in 2012. Hinge is more relationship-oriented in its features compared to its competitors, with marketing efforts focusing on the app’s “designed to be deleted” branding.

    1. You think your looks are a curse but instead, you could work on becoming an interesting, skilled person and learning how to have a conversation. Oh no, that actually takes effort. 🙁

    2. not true… I’m a male and I was voted best looking out of my graduating class and I can only get ugly girls to talk to me on Tinder and very few matches. I have gotten some attractive girls Match but they wont chat much if at all. I was suspicious so I did a fake Tinder account using pictures by a professional male model… this guy was on the cover of Mens Health and Fitness and he is perfect. NO flaws at all… same exact experience using his pictures as mine. So your theory is partially correct I will admit ( I’m not ugly to begin with but I’m not a male model either and neither one of us can get the girls who are 8’s, 9’s or 10’s to match with us. Just wanted to let you know that…

    1. It’s because women don’t need men anymore, government takes everything in charge for her.
Slow clap for tradcons who have enable that.

    2. Oh, trust me, I get a lot of dates. A lot. I don’t really know another way to get dates that doesn’t depend on sheer luck.

    3. @John Q Mergatroid I have heard of guys making phony profiles of models and then they would get tons of messages from women. I think Im a decent looking guy and I get zero messages. I almost never get a response and the ones that do reply are 250lbs. this has been going on for years. Its actually depressing. I need to stop using these apps

    1. Caitlin V
You know. Many of the things you said that were downers for women go both ways. THAT is the major hurdle two “strangers” have to knowingly or unknowingly deal with.

    2. @Adonay Pichardo porn is not intimacy and humans are the only species designed for intimacy..we make love facing each other.
also u wrote “i never had a problem” the video is about the other person .. did u take feedback from women about u, like genuinely..? lolssss

    3. @chrislo88 same here .. maybe build other irresistable and unique interests, YOUR unique interest.. we mostly find our soul mates when we do what we truly like.. pick a hobby which maybe is wierd however u’d like to learn it..🤝

    4. Great Video! Sorry for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you thought about – Lammywalness Fulfil Desire Guide (probably on Google)? It is a good one off product for learning how to make a man fall in love with you minus the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my best friend Jordan got excellent results with it.

    1. How do women get the guys so easy? and why is there more men on dating sites than women?

  1. All I hear is “her, her, her” as a guy you’re nothing more than their servant and provider and thanks to dating apps she can get a new one in 5 minutes. Remember that guys.

    1. This is why MGTOW.
      I’m a human with want & needs…. without a bottomless bank account

    1. And men’s thirst. Never, ever gives free attention. Because 1 they don’t deserves it 2 you have better things to do.

    2. Couldn’t agree more…they sit back and sift through a ton of maybes. Dont waste your time or frustration. Post wall, you are the prize. Keep that at forefront of your mind. The tech age has totally ruined dating and relationships and made hookups less effort for under 25s. Direct your attention elsewhere for the betterment of your mental being.

    1. My life long friend meet his girl on Instagram and they lived 1,700 miles apart and now they are married. I meet my girl online and we live 150 miles apart.
      Don’t give up boys!

    2. Timi Kärkkäinen
Why does it not work that well for guys? what makes women so special?

    3. Then the dating sites should only be for lesbians and banned all the straight males

  2. All of this is to much to understand lol they want you to be super intellectual. But in return they cant hold a conversation.

    1. @Feysal Futuristic E did not spell anything incorrectly. The key difference between quantum physics and quantum mechanics is that quantum physics is a branch of science which focuses on quantum mechanics whereas quantum mechanics is the set of principals that explains the behaviour of matter and energy.

    2. @Feysal Futuristic Figure out the differences between math and writing before you post grammatically tragic insults.

  3. 7:35 you’re being too generic, too vanilla, too boring!

All the woman has to do is look pretty, right?

    1. Honestly, men should put more standards to protect themselves…

It’s not because she is ” pretty or OKAY ” it doesn’t mean she is a piece of sh*t only there for :

      > Being entertained…
      > Financial security
      > Wanting a divorce in order to have money.
      > Need a man because she has NO SELF-ESTEEM (common AF)
      > OR what so ever.

Guys, you need to know quickly if she is there for YOU or your money…

    2. True its easier for attractive women. On the flipside its really hard for unattractive women, men at least can learn to be more at ease/confident/humorous

  4. Dating is too much of a hassle. Takes up my valuable time. I’m gonna die alone and hire an escort to cry at my funeral. It’s in my will 🙂

    1. I’ve dated from a dating sites and had terrible experiences. I’m done with these sites. What the hell happened to asking a girl out at a grocery store, athletic event etc.? Women make it harder than it really has to be.

    2. Haha that best comment today.. You made my day. I will also hire an escort to cry in my funeral.

  5. The Experience of dating apps:
    90% bots and scams
    7% silence
    3% weird comments about BBC.

  6. I just will never comprehend the entitlement of women.
“You need to approach me, you need to ask me out, you need to pay, you need to…”

    Also women –
“I’m sacrificing having to get dressed up for the date, I’m sacrificing having to put makeup on, I’m sacrificing missing my favorite TV show, I’m sacrificing…”

I’m not part of the mgtow movement but I completely understand the reason it was created.
