Quiet Riot music video for ‘Bang Your Head (Metal Health).

Well I’m an axegrinder piledriver
Mother says that I never never mind her
Got no brains I’m insane
Teacher says that I’m one big pain
I’m like a laser 6-streamin’ razor
I got a mouth like an alligator
I want it louder
More power
I’m gonna rock ya till it strikes the hour

Bang your head! metal health’ll drive you ma
Well I’m frustrated
Outdated I really want to be over-rated
I’m a finder and I’m a keeper
I’m not a loser and I ain’t no weeper
I got the boys to make the noise
Won’t ever let up
Hope it annoys you
Join the pack
Fill the crack
Well now you’re here
There’s no way back

Quiet Riot music video for ‘Bang Your Head (Metal Health).

Quiet Riot is an American heavy metal band founded in 1973 by guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Kelly Garni. The band is ranked at No. 100 on VH1‘s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

The original line-up featured Rhoads and Garni with lead vocalist Kevin DuBrow and drummer Drew Forsyth, though that version of the band was mired by turmoil that would eventually see Garni fired for threatening to kill DuBrow. Their most commercially successful lineup consisted of DuBrow alongside guitarist Carlos Cavazo, bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Frankie Banali, and in 1983 released their breakthrough album Metal Health, which is known for being the first heavy metal album to top the Billboard album chart. Their hit songs include “Cum On Feel the Noize” and “Mama Weer All Crazee Now” (both cover songs of the British glam rock band Slade), and “Metal Health“.

Despite several lineup changes and brief breakups, Quiet Riot continued to record and tour until DuBrow’s death from a cocaine overdose in 2007. Banali revived the band in 2010, and the current lineup consists of himself on drums, lead vocalist Jizzy Pearl, bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi, with no founding members remaining. The band has continued to record as well as tour following DuBrow’s death, and in 2014, they released their first album in eight years titled Quiet Riot 10, which was followed by Road Rage in 2017 and Hollywood Cowboys in 2019.

  1. Thumbs Up if you were:
    A. Not in Diapers when this song came out.
    B. Did Not learn of this song from any Type of GTA game or movie.
C.Actually lived in the 80’s with your hair long and a jean jacket, leather jacket, or whatever your fancy and know the true meaning of Rock, rebellion, and having a good time!!!

    1. 13 y/o here. Can’t relate to C. My therapist actually liked this song and introduced me to it.

    1. Dude no one cares that you prefer a genre, music is music, stop putting things in genres, if I like a song I like it. If I dont, I dont. Couldn’t care if it was jazz, rap, or a guy screaming into a toilet bowl, if I like it, I’m listening to it.

    2. @Kenny B You are just another one of these trolls online that likes to torment people just to start a fight. Why don’t you go back to the hole where you came from and leave real people alone.

    1. I’ve seen many Metal concerts at the Lakeland Civic center arena. I’m in Tampa. Didn’t see the one you mentioned though. 😂👍💀👊

    2. Lived on county line rd 1983 saw def leopard in the same civic center. Awesome show. That’s when you could walk down memorial drive in the night. All we have now is the memories.

  2. my mom hated this song. i played that cassette so much that is was nearly chewed up and barely recognized. one day after church, i was jamming in my room, she burst in and started ripping it apart… never forget the look on her face as she was pulling the tape out, literally driven mad. LOL!! my uncle got me another cassette for Christmas, much to her dismay. hahaha! to this day, i tag her in a FB posts occasionally just to remind her. > 🙂

    1. @conn 0 I did the same with a CD, different age, different Era, Different tech, I was only 12 at the time as well lol

    1. i was going through basic training in missouri and when we had a weekend pass, we would all pile in a taxi and got to waynesville and get a room and booze and turn the heavy metal up and get lit up! good times!

  3. There was an energy, an anger, a righteous indignation, a spirit of rebellion in the ’80s that was deserved and welcomed that Quiet Riot delivered and delivered well. The ’80s was a great time for metal music. Now, in 2018, the music is soft and limp –a music flaccid and void without the aid of Viagra. We must be thankful for the metal bands of the ’80s that spoke of the frustration, anger and outrage that we in the ’10s feel more than ever before.

  4. If you’re in your late 40’s early 50’s and playing air guitar and banging your head, carry on. You survived the 80’s and lived to tell about it.

  5. I graduated the the year this song was released – 1983. My final day of school, I came home, tuned into MTV and when this song came up I grabbed one of Dad’s beers from the fridge and cranked the volume so loud the glass in the windows was buzzing! Danced around the house like a damned fool because I was so glad to put high school behind me and didn’t even want to think about college. Man, to be that young and that happy about something so simple…..

    1. I ALWAYS Thought that this Video… Helped give rise to the Popularity of the Jason Mask from Friday the 13th Part 3… And Onward… Bang Your Head!! 2020, Onward!!! 🙂

  6. Getting into the end of 2019. If youre still jamming this lets gets some thumbs up!!

  7. Still banging my head in 2020!!! I’m 51 with permanent whiplash. It’s all Good, Crank this up!!! 🎸🎸🎸🍻🔥🔥🔥🔥
